Enzo Wutang Killa Bee Shaolin
550 gram pearl weave top rip stop pants
Great design, built to last and super exclusive
A little hot and heavier than other "cheaper" gis
We got our hands on another Enzo Kimono master piece. This time we are going to review the new Enzo WUTANG. The design is similar to the Enzo Nippon, so I strongly recommend that you check out our previous review for some good information and comparison between them.
I’m a fan of Enzo Kimono because I love when companies think out of the box and innovate. Enzo is doing that by bringing extremely high quality materials and great designs to the gi scene. Now, for the first time, they have a super partnership with the WUTANG brand. This is something that no other go brand has ever done before (not even close) and this model is a limited edition so make sure you check Enzo’s website for pre-ordering information.
If you’re a WUTANG fan, getting this gi is a no brainier. If you are not, you should strongly consider adding this one to your gi collection. Enzo nailed the design again and the quality of every single detail is excellent. Let’s break that review down:
Style / Design
The WUTANG Shaolin “Killa Bee” comes in White, Blue and Black. Again, like the Nippon Classic, the WUTANG has a inner lining rash guard style with a fantastic design featuring the 5 Deadly Venom Shaolin Killa Bee art by Leonartist. You are actually going to get a printed reproduction of that art when you get your gi. A nice little perk.
There are several similarities with the Nippon Classic, everything else is an improvement. Example: on the sleeves of the inner lining rash guard on the Nippon Classic there are threads of stitches to hold the rash guard in place. On the WUTANG there are none. The overall embroidery is better and the white model is just fantastic with the all red contrasting stitches and details.
This is what you are going to get with the gi:
- FREE 11×17 High Quality Print of corresponding art
- FREE Digital High Quality Art File for your personal use
- 20th Anniversary Official Limited Edition WUTANG® Brand Tag
- Enzo Kimono Co. Limited Edition “Protect Ya Neck” Brand Tag
- Collectable WUTANG® Gi Bag with “Killa Bee” & 5 Deadly Venom Mask , black thick chord, and black mesh backing
Not everything is perfect with the design. I would however, loved to have seen the inner rash guard designed to the gi considering its shape in order to better use the real state. Some of the art is cut in very important parts like faces and symbols. This is something minor because I guarantee that everybody will be impressed with the art the way it is.
Again, another improvement, the jacket feels more solid and robust. It is still a heavy gi but if you’re going for the WUTANG, weight is something you shouldn’t be worried about. Both openings on the pant sides are stronger and better reinforced than the previous model. Same with the opening on the jacket. This guy is built to last. I dare to say this is one of the most reinforced gi’s I’ve had. All the prints and embroidery is done with superb quality and the colors on the rash guard look amazing. It’s not a cheap gi and you’re certainly not getting a cheap product.

We got a pre-production model so a couple of things are going to change. When I talked with the guys at Enzo they told me that sizing is one of those. I got a size A0 which is suppose to fit like a size A1. Like I said on the review of the Enzo Nippon: their fit is very tailored and tight, especially on the chest area. I reviewed a size A1 last time and this time I want to try a A2 and see if I can shrink it to my perfect fit.
The Nippon A1 after a couple of washes shrunk just a little. Unfortunately, Enzo kimono didn’t have a pre-production A2 model at the time for me to try it out and take measurements so once the gi is out let’s see if I can get one and I’ll update you guys with both the A1 and A2 size and shrinking measurements so you can choose the right one to pre-order.
Very light pants and a heavy but comfortable jacket. The inner rash guard is great and the fact that it goes all the way to your wrists makes it even better. I really enjoy wearing this gi and even without a shirt underneath this is a comfortable model. It’s a little hot but nothing that you should worry about. One detail that I noticed is that, like the MUAE Furinkasan that we reviewed previously, the inner sleeve tape with the Enzo branding on scratches your wrists a little. I couldn’t try the gi after a couple of washing circles but I think that will go away. So, I’ll review this section once I get the A2 for testing.
This might be the closest you are going to get from an indestructible gi like the Adidas JJM. All the reinforcements you can imagine are there and more. The pants knee area is super big and all the side openings (jacket and pants) are reinforced with a big square piece of pearl weave fabric. I couldn’t ask for more. The down side is that it makes the gi heavier than others.
PRICE / WARP UP
This is a special gi and it has top quality materials. They are limited and hard to find. With that in mind the $249 price tag is not bad. Of course, you could buy two gis from other brands with that amount, but I guarantee you they will not look as good as this Enzo WUTANG.
Do I recommend it? Yes, very much so. It’s a great looking gi that was built with top quality materials (that should last you close to forever).
Now a days we have the privilege of having different gis for different occasions: you have one for competition, one for practice, another one that is light, one that is heavy and, if you don’t have a gi for special occasions this should be your next one. It’s like that very nice name brand shirt that you seldom wear it but you LOVE it.
