Perfect size, price, saves you time
Have you ever seen a product that you immediately thought “how did I ever live without this?” or worse “Why haven’t I thought of this before?” Well, this is the case with TAPE ARMOR.
Those guys decided to take the hideous task of cutting your regular athletic tape into small pieces out of the equation by offering 3 different tapes with different widths that are tailored for Brazilian Jiu-jitsu athletes.
Why should you tape your finger?
Mainly because of your joints. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is very hard on your fingers. Especially, when you first start training and are not careful with your grip, when your train for a long time, or if you train several times a day. The stress on your joints can cause some pain and the tape will help a lot by adding extra support to it. I also like to tape my fingers on the top joints because I use a lot of grip switch when trying to add some Judo to my BJJ game and the extra cover helps prevent gi burn.
I tested the standard width of the Tape Armor and I loved it. The tape has a good quality and works perfectly for BJJ and Judo. One thing that I noticed right away with TAPE ARMOR, versus cutting your own tape, is that it doesn’t leave sticky glue on the side of the tape and on your fingers. Since they are already pre-cut, you don’t get that! Also, the tape armor is a little thinner than the regular tape I used, so it’s easier to wrap around your fingers and joints several times.
Tape Armor sells three different tapes with different widths. The standard is perfect for my fingers but they also have extra thin and thick.
How much more do you have to pay to get Tape Armor?
According to my research not much!
The cheapest sport tape (with free shipping for prime) on Amazon I could find today was $2.80.
You can get 4 rolls for $13 or 16 for $46. If you go for the 16, that’s $2.90 per roll, only $0.10 more than regular tape so it’s worth it. Tape Armor also offers free shipping on all it’s products!
I really can’t find anything bad to say about Tape Armor. It’s a fantastic tape, saves you a lot of time, hassle, doesn’t leave glue on your fingers and its size is perfect for BJJ athletes. I just wish it had different colors for fun. 🙂
You can get the Tape Armor at their website.
