Rock in Green Athletic Wear Detergent
Rock in Green
The Rock in Green Athletic Wear Detergent was designed specifically for Athletic wear and since we have a bunch of those around we decided to review it. We all know that our gis are not like shirts and require special attention and we should extend that to the washing ritual too. Rock in Green has a full line of Eco-Friendly laundry detergent on their website. Their version of the Rock in Green Athletic Wear Detergent is tailored to our needs of cleaning very dirty gis without using heavy chemicals that will destroy our expensive investment and the environment. Their special formula helps to eliminate odor and remove tough stains like grass, dirt, clay, and blood.
Their mantra for this product is: “We kick butt, you kick butt, we are made for each other” Here are some of the features:
- Dye free;
- 100% phosphate free;
- Easy rinsing formula;
- Recyclable packaging;
- Great for high tech fabric;
- Cleans and deodorizes;
- Excellent in hard water;
- Gluten free;
- Safe for all colors;
- No building up formula;
- Naturally scented
I don’t know much about laundry washing but I can tell that this is different product. The packaging is very good with a nice zip-lock style lock and a design that saves a lot of space. It almost doesn’t have a smell, and you will notice that you will be using less than regular detergent for the same amount of gis. Their usage instructions are also very simple to follow: “Washing Instructions:
- Gather up your dirty sport stuff, try not to inhale too deeply;
- Add 1-2 tablespoons of detergent into the main detergent compartment;
- If you still smell something, it’s probably you, so hit the showers!;”
Another detail that I like about the Rock in Green Athletic Wear Detergent is that when you check the ingredients you’ll not see a bunch of stuff there. There are only 7 (yes, I counted) ingredients and they are all natural.
The Athletic Wear version of the Rock in Green follows the other products’ main characteristic which is being eco-friendly. Even the packaging is recyclable. I really appreciate that. Also, the detergent is naturally scented. When I have to use the dryer I like to add those dryer sheets and their scent is already strong enough so those 2 together work great. Also, I noticed that even though this detergent only has natural ingredients, tough stains like blood were gone on the very first wash. What I missed was that I couldn’t get an accurate measuring of how much detergent to use because it doesn’t come with a measuring scoop. You can get one for $2 at Rock in Green website and I suggest that you do that on your first order and remember do not throw it away.
Should I get it?
Yes. Consider that a bottle of regular Tide Detergent retails for around $18 at Amazon and gives you 32 loads, paying $16 for the Rock in Green is not bad because it gives you around 50 loads. And it’s eco-friendly and designed for athletic wear. I’m glad I bumped into this product and probably this is the only detergent that I’ll be using for my gis.
